On fire baby!
Zoals al te zien viel in de vorige post heb ik een aantal spelers laten gaan, maar in de geweldige MLS drafts heb ik ook gratis en voor niks een aantal nieuwe spelers gehaald.
Met Mapp en Carmichael heb ik twee toppertjes voor de toekomst aangetrokken. Verder wil ik ook nog wel even toelichting geven op de drafts in de MLS.
The MLS SuperDraft is an annual event in which the Major League Soccer teams select players who have graduated from college or otherwise been signed by the league. The SuperDraft was first instituted in 2000, as a combination of the MLS College Draft, in which players having graduated college were selected, and the MLS Supplemental Draft, in which all other players were chosen. The draft is divided into six rounds of ten picks, the order of which is determined by a combination of the teams' playoff and regular season positions. From 1996 to 1999, all players playing in the United States currently playing professionally in the United Soccer Leagues were eligible for the MLS Supplemental Draft, where they could be selected by all Major League Soccer teams. Players graduating college were entered into a separate MLS College Draft. The division between the two was eliminated in 2000, when they were combined into a single MLS SuperDraft. Additionally, MLS held additional Supplemental drafts in later years to distribute players who were signed by the league after the SuperDraft.
Vrij vertaald, er bestaan twee soorten drafts, de MLS Superdraft en de MLS Supplemental Draft. In de Superdraft komen talentvolle college spelers en afgedankte profs terecht. De Superdraft bestaat uit 6 ronden waarin per ronde 10 spelers mogen worden uitgekozen. De volgorde waarin de clubs mogen kiezen wordt bepaald door de einstand in de competitie en de play-offs. De kampioen kiest meestal als laatste. Omdat er echter in de MLS geen transfersommen worden betaald kan een ploeg wel draft allocations van andere ploegen overnemen, wat zoiets betekent als dat je eerder mag kiezen of 2 of meer keer mag kiezen in 1 ronde. De Supplemental draft is voor spelers die door de bond zijn aangetrokken. Iedere club mag, volgens hetzelfde principe als de Superdraft, 1 speler uitzoeken uit de pool van de bond.
Er vertrokken uiteraard ook een paar spelers, waaronder het volledige centrale verdedigingsduo, maar ik heb wel vet centjes gepakt.
Ik heb de laatste paar dagen ook nog een paar wedstrijdjes gespeeld in mijn nieuwe tactiek. De resultaten spreken voor zich, dunkt me. On fire BABY!!!!
